This week ushered in the commencement of the Paris couture fashion week in Paris, France and for Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative director of Valentino the answers moves with the present. Last month in New York, the Valentino Resort collection was a vibrant celebration of glam/leisure athleisure suit combined with mink coats: and the brand took the risk of going secular. This time around the brand took it further, though the collection wasn’t as literal in comparison to York runway – the fall haute couture is more of a reflection of Piccioli’s innate spirituality between religion and haute couture. The ritual of this season haute couture tapped into Pierpaolo Piccioli’s instinct and the result is a collection of contemporary outfits- such as pairing mink capes with tracksuit-silhouette pants and acid-neon silks with laser-cut embroidery.
